Haddy Faye surprised many by hiring Wizkid to perform at the Independence Stadium on the 28th February, 2015.
According to rumors reaching What’s On-Gambia, the young businesswoman paid the Nigerian superstar more than D2 million. She is also expected to spend almost half a million on adverts and everything else associated with the concert.
Wizkid and his entourage, according to a source, will be staying at one of the top hotels in the country.
The Show You the Money hit maker is thrilled about his Gambian debut. He tweeted: “My Gambian people! I’m coming to celebrate with you guys. Date confirmed! See y’all soon!”
Haddy Faye is hoping tens of thousands of Naija music fans will descend on the stadium on the 28th February. The concert is said to be a joint venture with her Syrian-born fiancé, Rafaat Al-Ahmar of Africell.
Wizkid is one of Nigeria’s best known international stars. He launched his singing career at the age of 11. The singer is now worth millions of dollars.
