With a singing career that is yet to fully take off, Memzy Sawaneh is fast becoming one of the most controversial young girls online.

The fame-hungry wannabe is determined to become a household name that she will do anything - including fabricating rumours about herself.

One of the rumours spreading online has it that she is a lesbian. However, aWhat’s On-Gambia investigation discovered that Memzy is behind it. Why would she want to be associated with lesbianism?

“She knows about the fake Facebook profile, Kumba Camara. It is from that profile where the rumour first emerged,” said a source.

The sprouting singer, who recently released a single, once wrote to What’s On-Gambia alleging that she dated famous Gambian boys like national footballer, Jack Jagne.

“I don’t know why she is obsessed with fame. She needs advice before she goes off the rails,” our source added.

Memzy is very active on social media and regularly post photos tagging some of her loyal followers. On Sunday, she was on Afri Radio to promote her newest records.
