Young man alleged he was denied national ID card because …

One Sulayman Jallow has claimed that he was denied an ID card by the Immigration officers at Bundung because his mum forgot the name of their village alkalo.

"I went to Bundung Police Station to apply for an ID card and upon reaching there I paid all the fees. At the interview, I was asked questions upon questions and I answered them all. One of the officers on the panel then asked me to call one of my parents," he said.

Sulayman continued: "I called my mum and she came. She was also asked multiple questions, but the problem is my mum has not been to school. My application was rejected because my mum couldn't remember the name of the alkalo of her native village in Foni."

According to the young mum, his mum left Foni at a very young age after getting married to his dad.

”I really don't know what to do next and they took my D550 without issuing me an ID card. I am a student and it was my lunch money that I saved to apply for an ID card," he disclosed.

Sulayman was born and brought up in Bundung.
