A young man said he felt humiliated and violated after being refused entry into one of the most popular restaurants in Senegambia.
According to Kebba Kongira, he was outside Reo’s when a member of the door staff asked him to leave because he was wearing shorts.
“Imagine going to Reo’s, sol suma shorts ak croc shoes, nyunneh duma duga. What could be more disrespectful than that?, said the young man in a message to What’s On-Gambia.
Kebba continued: “Are restaurants in The Gambia allowed to choose people to be in their places or what? I felt humiliated.”
When asked how he was refused entry, he responded: “I am a gentleman. I didn’t insist on going in, but I am sure if I did violence was next because they were ready for it.”
But what could be the exact reason why Reo’s rejected Kongira for wearing shorts?
“I am sure they have a dress code that requires guests to wear certain types of clothing. It could be possible also that Reo’s is trying to create a new atmosphere in their restaurant and feel that shorts would not fit in that atmosphere,” said one of their regular guests.
Located at the heart of the Senegambia Strip, Reo’s Bar and Restaurant is one of the greatest spots to catch the FIFA World Cup action with other football enthusiasts.
