Light skinned, beautiful and slick, she loves keeping her online followers updated on her activities as the country’s First Lady in a PR ploy after December 2014 aborted coup attempt on the State house.
But since her husband’s shocking and humiliating defeat in the presidential election, Zenab Jammeh also known among Gambian cyber warriors as the “gold digger first lady” has taken a break from Facebook.
The Moroccan-born beauty is now very quiet and some of her 19,000 followers are speculating that she might have deactivated her page that she opened back in February 2015.
Her last post was on the 12th December, 2016, a few days after her husband went on national TV to reject the outcome of the election.
While wishing Gambians a happy Eid Mawlid Al-Nabi, she wrote: “Never forget that Allah is the master of the universe and of our destiny. He will make everything beautiful at the right place, at the right time, for the best reason. Always have faith in Allah.
“May God bless you all and May He continue to bless our beloved country The Gambia.”
Zenab is the founder and chairperson of Operation Save the Children – a charity that is known for promoting and protecting the rights of children.
It is not yet clear whether the charity under the management of former tourism minister Fatou Mass Jobe will continue to operate in The Gambia.
