The police are investigating a video circulating on social media that allegedly shows two young women engaging in inappropriate acts.
According to a source, the individuals in the video are reportedly Gambians residing in New Jeshwang and Serrekunda Bambo.
“The video is being widely shared, and I understand the matter has been reported to the police for further investigation,” the source revealed.
The footage appears to have been self-recorded by the individuals involved, although the purpose behind its creation is unclear.
Same-sex relationships remain criminalized in The Gambia, with the government maintaining its stance against decriminalizing or reviewing related laws.
