A side chick, who requested to remain anonymous, has threatened to take her own life, claiming she was abandoned by a deputy governor after impregnating her.
In a message sent to What’s On-Gambia via WhatsApp, she wrote: “I am thinking of taking my life to get rid of the stress I have been under since I found out I was pregnant.”
The woman alleges that the deputy governor, who is married and has children, is denying responsibility for the pregnancy.
“He’s telling me he can’t have children, so he’s not the father of my unborn child,” she said. “But he’s the only man I’ve been with, so I know he’s the father. Since I told him, he’s been ignoring me – that’s the hardest part.”
When asked to name the deputy governor, she declined, saying: “I don’t want to expose him now. But if he sees this story, he will know I’m serious. If he keeps denying it, I will have no choice but to release his name and photo for everyone to see.”
