Alieu Sarr: “Any Gambian compound you enter, there is a gay”

Alieu Sarr’s recent rant against the treatment of homosexuals in The Gambia is likely to provoke outrage.

He was one of the alleged homosexuals that were set free last month by the High Court in Banjul. Alieu was accused of conspiring and engaging in homosexual acts. The five-month long trial attracted media attention both in The Gambia and abroad.

In an interview with US-based Fatu Radio, uploaded on SoundCloud, he said he can’t understand why there is so much hatred towards gay people.

According to Alieu: “Any Gambian compound you enter, there is a gay.”

He also argued that it is completely impossible for the government to erase homosexuality from the country.

Alieu, who currently lives in Dakar, Senegal, alleged that the owner of Coco Ocean Resort and Spa is an ‘original gay’ who is still walking the streets.

In the interview, the Banjul boy also recounted the whole incident that led to his arrest and how he was set free by the High Court.
