‘Back way’ migrants likely to be deported: Gambians in Italy call it ‘mere rumours’

Thousands of back way migrants in Italy and other parts of Europe are likely to be deported, a confidential draft from a recent European Union summit revealed.

The confidential document which was leaked to the UK based Guardian Newspaper stated that only 5,000 migrants will be allowed to resettle in Europe with large numbers likely to be returned to their home countries.

The news was met with responses from Gambians in Italy, with some calling it mere rumours.  See some of the best below from the Facebook group, What’s On- Italy.

Omar Touray: “Most of these rumours are from Gambia, our own brothers living in Gambia are feeling so jealous of the ones in Italy.”

Shieck Salman Komma:  “Astak furullah [may God forbid], even God the almighty Allah can't agree for that to happen, because it's very sad, after risking their lives  just to survive  and now they are saying to bring them back to Africa after spending their money….. ALLAHU AKBAR.”

Lamin Suwareh: “Who Jah bless no one can curse, tell the rumor guys to keep exaggerating.  God brought us to Italy not the devils. It is time for the youths to shine, no to deportation!”

Omar Isatou Singhateh: “INTERNATIONAL REFUGEE LAW... is a set of rules and procedure that aims to protect first person seeking asylum from persecution .and international legal protection of refugees….this is not true story, brothers and sisters forget about these rumours in social media.”

Pa Ebou Gaye: “We are enjoying here very well, no body can't deport us.

Pakutubo Bajo Dibba: False report not on CNN, BBC, Aljazeera, Press TV etc. Just Gambian propaganda.”
