President Adama Barrow has been named among the top ten Africa's most performing presidents for 2020 by The African Exponent - a pan-African news platform in Mauritius.
According to The African Exponent, their 10 Most Performing Presidents in Africa 2020 list features leaders who are not considered flawless but are ranked based on their policies and achievements in the area of economic stability, education, infrastructural development, and employment while in office.
The Gambian leader, who is seeking re-election in December 2021, is ranked 5th on the list.
His friend, Macky Sall of Senegal is also on the list at 8th while Ghanaian president, Nana Addo Akufo-Addo is at the 1st spot for his "people-friendly policies".
The African Exponent credits President Barrow for his efforts to transform The Gambia through infrastructural development.
"In June 2019, he received The Great Builder Super Prize award which is The Africa Road Builders Babacar Ndiaye Trophy for his achievements in the area of infrastructure in the country."
The list also includes Paul Kagame (Rwanda), George Weah (Liberia), João Lourenço (Angola), and Sahle-Work Zewde (Ethiopia).
