Dr Lamin Conteh has come under fire once again after accusing former interior minister and the leader of the Gambia Moral Congress (GMC) of using taxpayers’ money to build a multimillion Dalasi house.
The US-based accountant wrote on the Gambia Youth and Women’s Forum: “Are you aware that Mai Fatty has almost completed a D10M - D15M house in The Gambia. Where did Mai get that kind of money?”
He added: “Mai was broke when he came back to The Gambia in 2016. The Gambia cannot move ahead if we continue to sanction corruption.”
Dr Conteh’s post was soon flooded with furious comments saying he’s lying and obviously has a personal grudge against the GMC leader.
“The person who gave you the information should also be kind enough to disclose the source of Mai Fatty's funds,” commented former police spokesman, Aziz Bojang.
Facebook user Dan Chammeh also wrote: “Leave Hon Mai alone and tell us something important. We will forever be grateful to Hon Fatty. He stood for Gambians while you were putting your pants down, so shut up.”
“Another sinister and namby-pamby unfounded story from the so-called professor. Please, Lamin stop accusing people and contribute your quarter to the development of the Gambia,” commented one Alieu Conteh.
Dr Conteh is one of the famous critics of the Coalition government. He recently disclosed he would be returning to The Gambia soon to establish his own political party and run for president.
