Fen rek! The Gambia’s most wanted man claims he visited Niamina

French-Gambian political activist, Seedia Bayo, who is top on government’s list of wanted people, claimed that he had visited the country last week.

In a video that garnered more than THIRTEEN THOUSAND views on YouTube, Bayo said he was in the provincial district of Niamina, with his men, preparing to attack Banjul.

“We are in The Gambia to warn you to resign as soon as possible,” he said, referring to President Jammeh. “If you don’t resign we will come after you. I want young Gambians and women to join us.”

Bayo is known for making dubious claims that are further from the truth and often times appear to be taking Gambians for fools.

And, his revelation of his unimaginable journey to The Gambia, a country he came to know about only as a politician, received sharp criticisms.

Former editor of Standard Newspaper, Sainey Darboe, described Bayo as a clueless idiot.

He told What’s On-Gambia: “He is a clueless idiot trying to bluff and talk his way into the seat of the Gambian presidency.”

According to him, the French-born should be in a “mental asylum”.

One Ebrima Jaw took to Facebook to rubbish Bayo’s claim. He wrote: “Seedia Bayo is fooling himself. Let him come, the gate is open. He is the greatest coward. Whoever thinks can bring change through the bullet let him go on, but will end up regretting it inshalla.”

Many hold the view that the video he released on YouTube is part of his desperate efforts to generate media attention and stay relevant as the country prepares to go to the polls on December 1.
