Former state house insider reveals why Koro Ceesay was killed

Shocking revelations are emerging over the death of  Ousman Koro Ceesay – almost 22 years since his gruesome murder while serving as finance minister.

An online media outlet alleged that Edward Singateh, who was former president Yahya Jammeh’s vice president and closest aide, ordered the extermination.

In an interview with What’s On-Gambia, a former State House insider revealed that Koro was killed because of his refusal to let the military junta plunder funds that were inherited from the prudent PPP government.

“There was a dollar account in the Central Bank that the soldiers wanted to empty and share among themselves. Koro insisted it wouldn’t happen under his watch. He vowed to expose them if they go ahead with the withdrawal.

“They were not happy with him and decided to exterminate him once and for all.”

Implicated Edward Singhateh is currently serving as the Vice President of ECOWAS in Abuja, Nigeria. After his dismissal from Jammeh’s government, Edward kept a low profile and went back to school to become a lawyer and even briefly served as a magistrate.

The new government under the leadership of Adama Barrow has yet to disclose as to whether they would launch an investigation into Koro’s killing.
