Gambia-based Nigerian gospel singer wins two awards in one night

Success Chibuzor, a Nigerian gospel singer based in The Gambia recently received a Gospel award as artist of the year, album of the year and song of the year.

The award night was organised by Wave Plus Promotion held at Djembe Beach Hotel as part of promoting artistes talents. Speaking in an interview with The Point Entertainment and Lifestyle at the Assemblies of God Church along Kairaba Avenue, Success Chibuzor said the award night brought together thousands of music lovers.  “I won the best Gospel artiste, the best album of the year and the best song of the year awards.”

Chibuzor said he thank God for the awards because so many people were there with about 11 trophies and 22 nominees in which he received three of them out of the 11 and “we had a lot of Gambians and Sierra Leoneans as well as Nigerians.”

Chibuzor released his first album last July and the album is making waves on various radio stations.

He promises to visit the sub-region to promote his music and if possible to some European countries to showcase his talents.

He said the competition was tough, saying five of them received awards. “Receiving the awards was not only the issue but the night also brought us together to encourage one another.”
