The capital city of Finland, Helsinki is quickly becoming a major consumer of reggae music, and part of the credit for that goes to Gambian-born DJ and event organiser, Masta Lion.
Some of the reggae musicians he brought to Helsinki to perform at famous nightclubs include Morgan Heritage and J Boog. And on the 15th April, 2016, he is organizing a major concert featuring Jamaica’s Queen Omega at Side Club in Helsinki.
“It is going to be Queen Omega’s first appearance in Finland and I am expecting hundreds of reggae fans to attend. It is going to be big,” Masta Lion told What’s On-Gambia.
The Brikama-born, who lives in Helsinki with his family added: “Everything is set and the Queen is warming up for the big night.”
Born on the 31st August, 1981 in Trinidad, Queen Omega is one of the most powerful female singers in the reggae scene. She began recording in 2000 in England, releasing her self-titled debut album in 2001.
