Gambian with courage: Perhaps one of the most well-known women’s and children’s rights activists in the country. Satang Nabaneh-Cham is a lecturer at the University of The Gambia. She holds a Master’s Degree in Human Rights from the University of Pretoria, South Africa.

During her childhood, Satang was among the executive members of Child Protection Alliance, the most recognized Gambian organization specialized in the defense of the rights of children. 

The young activist has participated in several international and national conferences - the most recent was the Seventh Dublin Platform for Human Rights Defenders, a biannual event which brings together human rights defenders at risk. 

Satang, who recently got married, is truly a source of inspiration. Thumbs up for this brilliant young lady!
