A German woman has claimed she was a victim of racism, in an e-mail sent to What’s On-Gambia.

Edyta Joanna Ladno, who regularly visits the country, revealed that she felt discriminated when the owner of a store in Senegambia hauled insults at her for parking opposite her shop.

“The owner of the shop is a racist. He screams to tourists ‘Fuck you’,” she wrote.

The woman added: “The street is for everyone, not her property. I work in The Gambia sometimes. Everybody knows me. This lady hates me!”

According to her, she reported the matter to the police but they weren’t helpful.
