The Gambia Ports Authority (GPA), which is responsible for ferry services, has been accused of ripping off customers by charging D15 for luggage, which has never been the case.
According to a source: “I was forced to pay for my luggage. Honestly, I couldn’t believe it.”
He was on his way to Badibu and had a travelling bag in his hand. But to his dismay he ended paying for two tickets – one for himself and the other for the luggage.
“I paid D15 to them despite having only one bag that I placed on my laps in the ferry.”
When contacted by our reporter, a GPA insider was unable to provide a proper explanation. He said: “It is an order from management.”
