Award-winning rapper, Gee, is looking for a new international manager after cutting ties with Ibraheem Ceesay.

“He is just shady for my liking,” Gee said of Ibraheem, and his reasons were obvious. The multi-skilled young Gambian was away for a conference in Ghana when he asked young people to take to the streets against the government. He has since become the latest self-imposed exilee.

For the Pipeline rapper, his former international manager is a coward.

“Fighting a war and not being on the battle ground isn't my thing,” he said, adding:  “I don't associate the Gee brand with politics. My work has nothing to do with who is the president.”

Gee said he understands that as an artist he has a social responsibility, but right now his priority is how to give back to the community by helping children from disadvantaged backgrounds to stay in school.

The Bul Falleh Nyee hitmaker started working with Ibraheem less than five months ago after his famous one-year hiatus from music. The pair were planning a European tour with other Gambian artists when Ibraheem suddenly decided to throw himself into the political arena.

When asked if the European tour is still going ahead, Gee said: “I told them I am out as long as Ibraheem is in the picture.”
