Information and Communication Infrastructure Minister Sheriff Bojang has arrived safely back home after flying from Paris on Friday, shortly before the terrorist attacks that killed scores of people in several locations in the French capital.
There was concern over the minister, but on Tuesday he took to Facebook to reassure Gambians that he is OK.
Sheriff posted: “To all those who expressed concern, I left Paris on Friday and landed on terra firma in Banjul before the shootings began.”
He was in Paris to attend the 38th General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
The Friday terrorist attacks left more than 129 people dead. Some reports say another 200 were injured, as many as 80 seriously. The first details of the attacks broke shortly after 9pm when word came of a shootout at a restaurant.
