A leading Senegalese spices and seasoning products manufacturer, Jumbo is facing a social media campaign calling on Gambians to boycott their products over the Trendy and Serigne divorce saga.
A source disclosed to What's On-Gambia: "On Snapchat, they started a campaign to boycott Jumbo because Serigne claimed the company belongs to his father."
Serigne and his estranged Gambian wife, Trendy embarked on a whirlwind romance that saw them engaged just a few months after meeting. They married earlier this year, but less than six months later Trendy requested a divorce.
Heightening what has fast become a dramatic breakup, the Senegalese took to social media accusing Trendy of cheating on him with her ex-boyfriend, Jamba Manneh while they were still together.
He also alleged the Gambian socialite and YouTuber killed their unborn baby.
Serigne wrote on Snapchat: "You killed my unborn child (son) at 6 months! Noo, this is unbelievable.. and I promise you will pay for this."
Trendy's followers on social media were quick to jump to her defense with many advising her to never return to her Senegalese estranged husband for publicly disrespecting her. They also want Gambians to boycott Jumbo, a company that Serigne allegedly claimed belongs to his father.
