Meet the country’s youngest nominated female NAM

President Adama Barrow on Monday nominated Kumba Jaiteh to the National Assembly.

She’s a young lawyer, who is well-known for her involvement in the promotion and protection of the rights of women and children.

One of Kumba’s closest friends, Magistrate Omar Jabang said she’s a woman of resilience who is hardly brought down by challenges or setbacks.

He added: “Kumba is an asset to this great nation and it wasn't a mistake for her to be picked by the President of the Republic.”

Kumba studied law in both The Gambia and England. She graduated with First Class Honours at Anglia Ruskin University.

The 28-year-old is an executive member of the Female Lawyers Association –Gambia (FLAG), legal board member of The Gambia Network of AIDS Support Society (GAMNASS) and until recently legal counsel and consumer protection manager at The Gambia Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.
