Gambian men in a relationship or married with a Muslim woman are expected to spend more than D25,000 this upcoming tobaski.

It's predicted that some of the budget will go towards "gezner", shoes and makeup.

A large majority of this will be spent on human hair, which is now costing over D10,000 in beauty shops in the Greater Banjul Area.

A photo of the predicted estimate and the unit cost of each item is currently making the rounds on social media.

One Sheriffo Ceesay in Spain wrote on Facebook: "Just look at this nonsense guys. If this is for tobaski only what about other events like wedding."

Facebook user, Fatty Hydara also commented: "That's why it's better to be single."

For many, tobaski can easily get out of hand with some men admitting they feel under pressure to make their partners look like Meghan Markel, the Duchess of Sussex.
