Although he died more than two decades ago, Omar Bun Jeng remains the most popular Gambian Islamic scholar among Gambians.

His videos on YouTube, which were uploaded by some of his admirers, garnered more than one million views.

Omar Bun Jeng, who was born in The Gambia and raised in Senegal, died in 1995 in Kombo Gunjur.
