An online fundraising has been launched to help vendors affected by the Latri Kunda market fire to rebuild their businesses.
Dozens of businesspeople lost all their goods when fire ravaged the market on Saturday morning.
A British woman Kath Ridout has set up an account with the Crowfunding website where people can donate to help the vendors get back on their feet.
"I have decided to set up a crowdfunding page to see if the power of the internet can help raise some money to help these stall holders rebuild their businesses in time for the oncoming season," she announced.
The Latri Kunda market is one of the biggest markets in Serre Kunda and contributes significant to The Gambian economy.
