In Senegal, a man in his 40s was arrested for strangling a sex worker to death after she refused to let him continue for a second round.
The suspect, identified as Cheikh D. Niang, also known as "Baye Fall," allegedly paid the victim, Ndeye Codor Sarr, for two rounds of sex. However, after the first, she declined to proceed, leading to an argument between the two.
During the altercation, Baye Fall strangled her, stole her phone, and later sold it to a friend.
Police tracked the phone, which led to his arrest. After a lengthy interrogation, he was charged with both murder and theft.
Prostitution is legal in Senegal but regulated by a health policy. Unlike in The Gambia, sex workers in Senegal must register with a health facility and undergo monthly health checks for sexually transmitted infections.
