The Gambia’s top rapper, ST, has denied allegations of taking his fellow artists to marabout, revealing that he only began visiting marabouts himself last year.
Speaking during an appearance on Sultan’s popular Ifangbondi online talk show—followed by thousands of Gambian music fans—ST addressed the long-standing rumors.
“I’m not into marabout business. That’s never been who I am. I know I have the talent,” he said.
Reflecting on his career milestones, ST added, “I started doing big shows at the stadium, and I can swear to God—I’ve never poured ‘nasso’ on my body.”
However, the “Aling Dumo” hitmaker admitted that he began seeking spiritual protection last year due to personal challenges that felt out of the ordinary.
“I went through things that would be hard to believe if I told you,” he confessed to Sultan, who currently resides in the U.S.
