A Gambia-based Jamaican man allegedly used Patois to scam a dentist in Sukuta, according to information reaching What's On-Gambia.
One Muhammed Kebbeh disclosed: "The dentist is my friend. He thought the Jamaican was a decent guy when he entered his clinic and greeted him in Patois."
He continued: "I work at Value Pharmacy at the Turn Table as a dispensary nurse. He came to my pharmacy and asked if I know a dentist that can help him replace some missing teeth. I referred him to my friend in Sukuta.
"But I later received a call that the Jamaican left without settling his D8,000 bill. I was shocked and still struggling to believe that he took advantage of our kindness."
According to Muhammed, they allowed him to leave the clinic in search of an ATM, as the dentist doesn't take card.
But when he did not return, the dentist realized they had lost the money.
