Kebba Chad Jaiteh, a young Islamic scholar with a significant following on Facebook, has sparked a heated debate with his recent advice to married men.
Kebba suggested that Gambian men should consider taking a second wife if their first wife refuses to wake up for Fajr prayers.
He wrote: "Dear brothers, if your wife isn’t waking you up for Fajr, marry a second wife."
The post quickly attracted a flurry of comments, both supportive and critical. Fatimah Mballow, a follower, voiced her disagreement: "It is the duty of the husband as the head to guide his wife, not the other way around. Don't cause trouble!"
Another follower commented: "You are the husband and also the head of the family. You should be waking her up to observe Fajr. She shouldn't be the one to wake you up."
Some of Kebba's male followers jokingly wrote that they might use his advice as an excuse to take a second wife.
Based in Holland, Kebba describes himself as a public figure, influencer, content creator, motivational speaker, and writer. His posts regularly attract thousands of reactions, highlighting his significant influence on social media.
