The leader of the Gambia Action Party (GAP), Musa Yali Batchilly has disclosed the National People's Party (NPP) approached them to form a coalition for the December 4 presidential election.

The loudmouth politician was journalist Modou Lamin Sultan Jammeh's guest on last week's episode of the popular Ifang Bondi show on Eye Africa TV.

"On the 2nd June this year, my deputy Omar Beyai, a very good man, called me and said he had a conversation with the president about us forming a coalition," said Batchilly.

He further revealed they were later invited to the State House, where they met some NPP leaders including presidential adviser Siaka Jatta.

" A few executive members went there including his excellency, the current president with Siaka Jatta. We sat, we talk and then we left. So I talked to my people and they said we are leaders, we are not followers."

Batchilly claimed the NPP needs them to be able to set up a fierce battle for Barrow to win reelection on December 4.
