A well-known Senegalese marabout with a large following on social media has predicted that President Adama Barrow will lose the 2026 presidential election to a younger candidate.

In a TikTok video, Serigne Modou Fall advised President Barrow to begin preparing for his departure, claiming that Gambian voters will reject a third term for the incumbent leader.

“The person who will defeat him is a young man. There is no force on this earth that can stop it, not even the jinns, who are unhappy with him” Serigne Modou declared.

The video sparked debate among TikTok users. One irate supporter of Barrow’s National People's Party (NPP) responded: “Are you God? Only God knows what will happen.”

Another user commented: “Baye fen. Dull rek. It’s already clear to all Gambians that Barrow will step down—nothing mystical about it.”
