Motorists in The Gambia have a reason to smile. Fuel stations across the country have reduced the domestic fuel pump prices following a recent government pronouncement, The Point newspaper reported.
The price of petrol has been brought down from D57 to D50 per litre. Diesel is also sold at a reduced price of D45 per litre.
The reduction in the prices of fuel in the country follows similar drops in the global oil pump prices.
However, the fuel price cuts have so far failed to translate to reduction in the prices of basic commodities and commercial transport cost.
