Gina Manneh has been crowned African model of the year in Ivory Coast last weekend. She beat out models from different parts of the continent.

One of the country’s most successful models, the young beauty was given the award at a star-studded event attended by three ministers in Alassane Ouattara’s government.

In an interview with What’s On-Gambia, Gina said: “I dedicate the award to The Gambia, my home country. I actually knew I will win because I always believe in myself.

As an International model, representing Gambia makes me proud to be a Gambian. But what made it more special, I was the first [Gambian] model to win the award.”

Gina started modelling at a very tender age. She has walked for countless designers in different parts of the globe.
