A young man living in the UAE has shared his heartbreak, claiming his girlfriend of two years abruptly ended their relationship after spending hundreds of thousands of dalasis to bring her to Dubai for holiday.

In a message to What’s On-Gambia, the man expressed his disappointment, saying, “We started dating two years ago. I supported her financially, paid her university fees, and even flew her to Dubai for a two-week vacation. I spent all that money because she promised we would get married.”

According to him, things began to fall apart shortly after the trip. “As soon as she returned from Dubai, she started acting distant. The relationship began to crumble,” he explained.

The man also alleged that the woman, identified as Ramatoulie, has since rekindled her relationship with an ex-boyfriend. “She told me she tried to love me but couldn’t, so she returned to her ex,” he said.

He claimed he spent over D200,000 on her during just one week of the holiday and also bought gifts for her entire family. “When she was in Dubai, I wasn’t only spending on her. I also bought presents for her mum, dad, and siblings,” he added.

In a controversial twist, the man threatened to expose private photos of the woman unless he is reimbursed for the money he spent throughout their relationship.
