A young customs officer, Paul Val, has allegedly paid D20,000 just to obtain the phone number of a young woman he spotted on social media.

According to a source, "He saw the girl on someone's WhatsApp status and paid D20,000 to get her number."

Paul, who is currently posted at the customs branch in Farafenni, is widely known for his flashy lifestyle. He is often seen driving luxury vehicles worth millions of dalasis and is said to be a regular at high-end parties.

When the young woman asked him about the source of his wealth, Paul allegedly responded: "Every year, the government gives us a revenue target. Once we meet that target, whatever extra we collect is shared among us."

However, another source close to him suggested a different story, claiming that the customs officer comes from a wealthy background and that his family is the real source of his lavish lifestyle.
